Hamptons’ Beach House Rental Market Frenzied, While Jersey Shore Owners Left Out in the Cold

The New York Times reports that there is a “feeding frenzy” for Hamptons seasonal beach house rentals.

Contrast that with the chilling effect of Governor Murphy’s executive Order barring short-term rentals found in our recent “I Can’t Rent My Beach House! blog.   Hard to predict if the restrictions on short-term rentals – to be decided at a local municipal level in New Jersey – will ease in time to save some portion of the seasonal rental market this year, as some shore communities are thus far permitting rentals while others are restricting them.  It will be harder still to predict if any relief will be granted to the owner in that case.  Realtors and owners of seasonal rental properties at the Jersey Shore await the outcome with baited breath….
